Crimson Vista announces the hiring of Adam Caldwell as Lead Forensics Engineer, bringing extensive multidisciplinary experience in criminal investigations, software and hardware engineering, and intelligence operations.

AUSTIN, TEXAS - November 2025 - Crimson Vista, Inc., a leading provider of innovative cybersecurity/IT engineering services, today announced the hiring of Adam Caldwell as its Lead Forensics Engineer. Crimson Vista will leverage Adam’s extensive, multidisciplinary background in criminal investigations, software and hardware engineering, and leadership to increase the capabilities of the team.

He has completed the SANS Wireless, Network Penetration Testing, Exploit Writing, and Ethical Hacking courses, and holds certifications in Mathematics for Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. Moreover, Adam has provided intelligence briefings during his time in the Air Force and NCIS and also was a liaison with Japanese government agencies and officials. He served as the technical lead for projects related to encryption and networking at Intel. And he also was a point of technical sales for network defense software.

Prior to Crimson Vista, Adam was a Software Engineer at Intel Corporation, developing Linux kernel, driver, and library code for post silicon testing tools, and an Engineering Scientist at the Applied Research Laboratories at the University of Texas at Austin, specializing in developing network defense software. He also spent 12 years in the US military focused on intelligence operations and analysis.

Education

His education includes:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from University of Maryland
  • Master of Engineering in Technical Japanese from the University of Wisconsin-Madison
  • Bachelor of Arts in Japanese from Brigham Young University

Strategic Impact

“Crimson Vista is a cybersecurity engineering company but much of that engineering work is essentially investigation and analysis. Somewhat like analyzing how a bridge collapses or pipes burst, we analyze how things go wrong in the Digital world,” said Seth Nielson, CEO of Crimson Vista. “How did this authentication software fail? How did data move from a secure location to an insecure location? Who had access to what resources and when? Is this data forensically sound and can we trace its provenance? Our work requires adding judgment, insight, and hypothesis testing to traditional requirements of software development, hardware design, and cybersecurity knowledge. Adam is one of those rare people that can put all of these pieces together.”
