Incident response

Something’s wrong? Call us first.

IRFR · Incident Response First Responders

Like a fire department for cyber incidents: we arrive fast, analyze and isolate the threat, and help you strategize your next move—before you call your cyber insurance carrier or whether you need to call them at all.

In the first hour

What you do next matters.

01

Don’t power down

Shutting systems off can destroy volatile evidence. Disconnect affected machines from the network instead.

02

Don’t wipe or rebuild

Restoring before you understand the incident can erase the trail and leave the attacker inside.

03

Preserve the record

Keep logs, emails, ransom notes, and screenshots. Write down what you saw and when you saw it.

04

Call IRFR

We help you understand the situation so the conversations with your carrier, counsel, and leadership start from facts.

Why call us first

The trusted advisor
before the claim.

The first call shapes everything that follows. Carriers, outside counsel, and response vendors each have a role, but none of them can make good decisions without knowing what actually happened. IRFR gives you an independent read of the situation, fast, so every next step is an informed one.

Digital forensics services
  1. 01

    Respond

A senior practitioner takes your call, gathers the essentials, and engages quickly—remotely or on site.

  2. 02

    Assess

We identify what kind of incident you are facing, which systems and data are involved, and whether it is still active.

  3. 03

    Stabilize

We guide immediate containment and preserve evidence, so nothing you will need later is lost now.

  4. 04

    Advise

You get a clear, plain-language briefing and recommended next steps: carrier notification, legal counsel, regulatory obligations, and recovery. Our Incident Response offering is also available as a monthly, retainer-based service.

When to call

If it feels wrong, it probably is.

You do not need to be certain it is a breach. Calling early is how small incidents stay small.

01

Ransomware or encrypted files

Files are locked or renamed, or a ransom note has appeared on a screen or server.

02

Business email compromise

A fraudulent wire request, a changed invoice, or a mailbox sending messages no one wrote.

03

Suspicious account activity

Unexpected logins, new administrator accounts, or MFA prompts no one requested.

04

Possible data exposure

Sensitive data shows up where it should not, or someone claims they have it.

05

Third-party or vendor breach

A supplier, MSP, or SaaS provider tells you they were compromised and you may be affected.

06

Insider concerns

An employee or contractor may have taken, changed, or destroyed data on the way out.
