Crimson Vista Partners with Curuvar on Grant from National Science Foundation
Crimson Vista announces participation with Curuvar on NSF SBIR grant for research and development work on decentralized root of trust infrastructure for defending critical information systems.
BALTIMORE, MD - Crimson Vista announces their participation along with Curuvar, a leading innovator of Intrusion Tolerant information security infrastructure, on a grant from the National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) division to conduct research and development (R&D) work on decentralized root of trust infrastructure for defending critical information systems against advanced cyber threats.
Critical Research Partnership
“Crimson Vista was essential to the completion of our NSF research,” said James Charles, Founder/CEO of Curuvar and Principal Investigator for this Phase I research. “Dr. Nielson and team lead the design of a comprehensive, cloud-based testing platform for our research prototype and supported in the drafting of our published findings. Their science-based approach to systems design and analysis was instrumental of the success of our program.”
Innovative Technology
“Charles, and his company Curuvar, are working on amazingly cool technology. The concepts that Charles came up with are extremely innovative and are powerful applications of cryptography,” said Dr. Seth Nielson, Founder and CEO of Crimson Vista. “In a world full of attacks both from malware and insiders, Curuvar’s technology really has the power to make a difference. We are incredibly excited for the invitation.”
Research Objectives
The Phase I research focuses on:
- Decentralized Root of Trust Infrastructure - Building foundations for intrusion-tolerant systems
- Advanced Cyber Threat Defense - Protecting critical information systems from sophisticated attacks
- Cloud-Based Testing Platform - Comprehensive validation and analysis infrastructure
- Cryptographic Innovation - Novel applications of cryptographic principles
Impact on Cybersecurity
This research has significant implications for:
- Government and defense systems requiring high assurance
- Critical infrastructure protection
- Enterprise security architectures
- Distributed trust systems
